Located north of Longmont, Berthoud has a small-town feel with a population of about 8,000 in 2018. Berthoud offers mountain views, plenty of open space and a quaint downtown area. Berthoud has plenty of parks and recreation opportunities including 10 parks including a skate park, baseball fields, soccer field, outdoor basketball courts, sand volleyball courts and a town swimming pool.




Erie draws growing families, young professionals, active adults and outdoor enthusiasts. A former coal town, Erie is now a growing, rural town located about 20 minutes from Boulder and Longmont, and about 25 minutes from Denver. In 2017, the population was about 24,000. Erie has a picturesque historic downtown, gorgeous mountain views, award-winning community center, 20,000 square foot library and a championship golf course (Colorado National Golf Club). 


Slightly east of Erie and Longmont are three towns located in close proximity to one another: Frederick, Firestone and Dacono. This area is also called Carbon Valley and they share some amenities.




Frederick is a growing, vibrant community located east of Longmont, and north of Denver. It’s a tight-knit community with a quaint downtown area full of businesses, breweries and restaurants. In 2018, Frederick’s population was 14,000. Frederick has an amazing Carbon Valley Recreation Center, Bella Rosa golf course and plenty of parks and outdoor opportunities. 




Firestone is a booming community located east of Longmont, and north of Denver. The town is known for its sprawling open spaces, new library, outdoor recreational opportunities and rapidly growing economy. Firestone offers numerous neighborhood, community and regional parks, including a regional sports complex and Saddleback golf course. Miles of trails make up the Firestone Trail system, which is part of the regional Colorado Front Range Trail system. Firestone’s population in 2017 was 14,000-population grew 431 percent between 2000 and 2010 due to its low taxes and new housing developments.



Dacono is a growing community in southwest Weld County just east of Longmont and North of Denver. It has a small-town, charming feel and offers plenty of community events, a growing economy and affordability. The median home value is under $200,000. Dacono’s population was 5,400 in 2017.
